THURSDAY 15TH AND FRIDAY 16TH MARCH 2018

University of Melbourne (Hawthorn Campus)

This innovative two-day training replaces the Foundation Course and provides an intensive introduction to
psychotherapeutic work with children, young people and their parents that utilises a modern psychodynamic
approach. The approach focuses on:
– Time-limited therapy and counselling.
– Working within a meaning-making framework that demonstrates how children and young people ‘speak’ their
families through their behaviour.
– A therapeutic process that gives children, parents and young people the practical and emotional tools to problemsolve future challenges.
– Engages with the capacity for health and growth not solely pathology.
